Data You Provide

• Birth Data: Birth date, time, and location you enter for natal chart calculations
• Saved Charts: Any natal charts you save in the app
• Preferences: Display settings and saved chart data
• Contact Information: Name and email when you contact support

Automatically Collected Data

• Device Information: Operating system, browser type, device model (for bug fixes and compatibility)
• Usage Statistics: App features used and crash reports (anonymous)

Local Storage Only: All your birth data, saved charts, and settings are stored locally on your device using IndexedDB (web) or local storage (mobile). We do not store this data on our servers.

This means:

• ✅ Your birth data never leaves your device
• ✅ We cannot access your personal astrological information
• ✅ App works offline after initial setup
• ⚠️ Data is tied to your device/browser - clearing app data or uninstalling removes it

We use information only for:

• Providing core app functionality (planetary calculations, birth charts, aspect analysis)
• Improving app performance and fixing bugs
• Responding to your support requests
• Understanding which features are most popular (anonymized usage stats)

We do NOT:

• ❌ Sell your data to third parties
• ❌ Display advertisements
• ❌ Track you across other websites or apps
• ❌ Require account creation or login

AstroPal integrates with the following external services:

Astronomical Calculations

All planetary position calculations are performed locally using the Swiss Ephemeris algorithm (based on NASA JPL data). No external API calls are made for astrological calculations.

Geocoding (Optional)

Nominatim OpenStreetMap (https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org) - Used to convert birthplace names to coordinates for accurate chart calculations. No tracking or personal data collection. OSM Privacy Policy

Analytics (Optional)

We may use privacy-focused analytics (e.g., Plausible or similar) to understand anonymous app usage. No cookies, no personal data, no cross-site tracking.

We do not use cookies for tracking.

We use essential browser storage (localStorage, IndexedDB) to:

• Save your birth charts and settings on your device
• Remember your display preferences
• Store your display preferences

This is not tracking - it's local storage for app functionality.

We implement security measures including:

• HTTPS encryption for all website requests
• No server-side storage of personal birth data
• Secure contact form handling via Formspree

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

AstroPal is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information through the contact form, please email us at astropal@ldcoda.com.

You have the right to:

• Access: Your chart data is stored locally on your device
• Deletion: Clear all app data in settings or uninstall the app
• Correction: Edit your saved charts directly in the app
• Data Portability: Export your chart data (feature coming soon)

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of AstroPal after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
