Privacy Policy

1. What you enter in the app

• Your birth details: date of birth and birth city, plus the time and a chart name if you give them
• Saved charts (up to 25) and saved matches (up to 20): the birth dates, times and places you save, and a chart's name if you give one
• Settings and caches: your house system, lunar node, Dark, Light or Auto look and transits setting, whether you have finished or skipped the welcome and whether you have joined the newsletter, and today's reading and best days, kept so they open quickly

We never receive any of this. It is used on your phone to calculate and explain your charts.

2. Where it is stored

Everything is kept in the app's own storage on your device. Nothing is stored on our servers, and we cannot see your astrological data.

• On Android, AstroPal opts out of cloud backup, so your data is not backed up to your Google account. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
• Reset all data (in the app's Settings) erases everything AstroPal has stored: your birth details, saved charts and matches, settings and cached readings. Reset Birth Data (on the app's Data & Privacy page) clears your birth details, your saved charts and today's cached reading.
• There is no export yet, so AstroPal cannot copy your charts to another device.

3. What goes over the internet

Nothing, for any of the app's features. Planetary positions, houses, aspects, returns and readings are all calculated on your phone, and the app's font is built in. There are no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or payment libraries in the app (we checked the Android build for them).

Newsletter (optional)

The app's Data & Privacy page and this website each have a newsletter form. If you type your email address and send it, that address and the name of the app (or of this website) are sent to LD Coda's sign-up service, hosted on Amazon Web Services. We use it only to send occasional LD Coda news and never sell or share it. To be removed, email info@ldcoda.com.

4. Permissions

AstroPal asks you for no permissions, on Android or on iPhone: no location, contacts, camera, microphone, notifications or files. Places come from the app's built-in list of 6,600+ cities, or from coordinates you type into the city search.

Android grants two permissions without asking. Internet access comes with the framework the app is built on (Capacitor) and is used only by the optional newsletter form. The other is private to AstroPal: Android's support libraries use it so that parts of the app can signal each other, and no other app can use it.

5. This website

• No cookies, no analytics and no tracking. The fonts are served from this site.
• The App Store and Google Play badges are images loaded from Apple's and Google's servers, which see your IP address like any web request.
• The contact form is handled by Formspree: what you type (name, email, device, the topic you pick and message) is sent to us by email so we can reply. We keep messages for up to 2 years.

6. What we don't do

• Sell or share your data
• Show advertisements
• Track you across other websites or apps
• Ask you to create an account or log in

7. Children's privacy

AstroPal is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has sent us personal information through the contact form or the newsletter, email info@ldcoda.com and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

• Access and correction: your chart data is on your device, where you can see it in the app. To correct your birth details, open the chart name at the top of the app and choose Edit birth details, or save a corrected chart there and choose Set as my chart.
• Deletion: use Reset all data in the app's Settings or uninstall it. For a contact message or a newsletter address, email us.
• EU and UK (GDPR): we process contact messages and newsletter addresses with your consent. The data controller is LD Coda, LLC (info@ldcoda.com). You may complain to your local data protection authority.
• California (CCPA): you can ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. We do not sell personal information.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date.
